Sunstate Sands Australia – Wet Plant Upgrade 2023 – Bundaberg, Qld
Allied Project Developments, working on the owner’s team, completed a new plant upgrade project for Sunstate Sands Bundaberg. The project dramatically improved the product quality by removing organic impurities from the coarse plant process circuit and included additional wet classification equipment and process water management strategies. The new process design was derived from excellent metallurgical test work results and completed December 2023.
Adelaide Living Beaches Project 2021 – Stage Pumping System
The original Adelaide Living Beaches project (ALB) included the construction of an initial beach nourishment pumping system that was completed in January 2013. As an extension of that original project, the design of a new sand pumping system extension between Semaphore South Breakwater and Torrens Outlet was commissioned to have the capacity to operate for a continuous sand pumping campaign total of 150,000 m3 pa of sand pumped to West Beach.
This additional pumping of beach sand some 13.0 kilometres from Largs Bay to West beach in South Australia was required as part of the overall ALB programme and incorporated numerous stage pumping stations. The SCU2 required considerable design inputs to meet the various constraints including physical size, noise and asthetics. Allied Project Developments provided both design and technical advisory services for the new Sand Collection Unit (SCU2).
Perpetual Resources Limited 2020-21 – Beharra Pre-Feasibility Study
Acting as the clients representative, Allied Project Developments successfully managed and delivered the Beharra Pre-Feasibility Study (PFS) on behalf of Perpetual Resources Limited (ASX:PEC). The study involved the management and interaction with a variety of consultants, service providers and stakeholders. Allied also completed and contibuted a variety of deliverables such as the overall study document, capital and operating estimates amongst others. The study was completed and complied with the JORC 2012 guidelines for project development.
Holcim Australia – 2020 – Stage Pumping System – Pump system design
Allied Project Developments in providing ongoing support for Holcim Australia’s Lang Lang Silica operation completed a variety of stage pumping calculations in anticipation of the new Dredging operation and relocation exercise. The study involved a variety of pumping scenarios and was delivered to Holcim to assist in the strategic planning of the operation. Allied continue to provide engineering and project management support to Holcim’s operations.
Titanium Corporation Inc. – various sites Alberta, Canada.
Titanium’s patented CVW™ technology reduces the environmental impact of oil sands froth treatment tailings while recovering lost bitumen, solvents and valuable titanium minerals and zircon that would otherwise be lost in tailings ponds. The CVW™ technology additionally reduces volatile organic compounds emissions and avoids greenhouse gas emissions from tailings ponds.
Allied Project Developments have been heavily involved with Titanium Corporation Inc. (TSX:TIC) on the various pilots and project development activities on the way to commercialisation.
Some highlights have been; the Design, Project Management & site commissioning of a Bulk Sample Plant at Syncrude’s operation in Fort McMurray, AB; the Design, Project Management & site commissioning of a 4TPH Pilot Plant at SMRC in Regina, Saskatchewan and the Project Management for the Process Plant FEED CVW™ Project 2019.
Saint Gobain Ceramic Materials – Quench Tunnel Project – Huntsville, AL, USA
This project involved the design and installation (2) Quench Tunnel Units at SGCM’s Huntsville Plant. The units were constructed and trial asssembled in Brisbane and transported partially aassembled to Huntsville , Alabama, USA. Services included the Design, Project Management, procurement, trial assembly Brisbane, construction supervision & commissioning including operator training and handover.
Sunstate Sands Australia – Silica Processing Plant – Bundaberg, Qld
Engineering, Procurement and Construction Management (EPCM) of a 200,000 TPA silica processing plant. The plant produces quality wet and dry silica products including raw material for the production of contruction render. The project included commissioning, training and handover to client;
FPE Seawall Alliance Project– Port of Brisbane
This project was part of the Port of Brisbane – Future Port Expansion project and involved the construction of a 4.5kilometre seawall in order to expand the Ports footprint. The project was delivered on an EPCM basis and the brief was to design and detail of barge mounted geotextile laying system to safely and accurately lay geotextile sheets on the seafloor ready for rock armor and ballast to be installed. The project was completed ahead of time and on budget.
Monto Minerals Industrial Minerals Project – Goondicum Crater, Monto, Central Queensland
This project included the the engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning of the Goondicum Wet Separation Plant and Dakiel Feldspar Upgrading plant value $70M. The project was located at the Goondicum Crater near Monto, Queensland. The project incorporated all aspects of the localised facilities and infrastructure including
Ore transfer and rejects disposal equipment, Infrastructure (inc earthworks, process ponds, roads, site services, site buildings), site power, local water reticulation, Wet Separation Plant design, mechanical, structural and electrical and concentrate & product storage areas.
SALT Land Reclaimation Project– Kingscliff, NSW
The project involved the challenging task of pumping land fill from the Chinderah (Duranbah Pit) some 8.5 kilometres to the SALT resort site at a rate of 600TPH of solids. The project successfully eliminated the need for numerous truck movements per hour which would have created unacceptable risk relating to noise, dust and road safety issues for the local residences. The brief was to design and commission the system for SEE. The works included a 6 stage overland stage pumping system in a 3+3 configuration to minimise noise and a stepped pipeline design to minimise costs.
